ABOUT SEAN Leckie
Sean Leckie, owner of Blue Ridge Farms, is a professional show jumper, trainer, and horseman recognized for his dedication to developing competitive horses and riders through a foundation of classical training, precision, and exceptional horsemanship.
Early in his career, Sean established himself as a standout junior rider being one of the nation’s top young equitation competitors, earning recognition on the national circuit through prestigious medal and equitation divisions. His accomplishments as a junior rider include: the WIHS Equitation Hunter Phase Winner, USHJA Emerging Athletes Program National Training Session Participant, Hudson & Company Medal Finals Winner, and Cloverleaf Medal Finals Winner, to name a few.
Later, in Sean's career he joined five-time Olympic Medalist Mclain Ward's team through the Talent Search developing young professionals program. His experience in the show ring, combined with years of producing successful horse-and-rider partnerships, has established him as a respected trainer and horseman. Sean brings that depth of competitive experience to the Blue Ridge Farms program, helping riders pursue ambitious goals while developing horses with the confidence, skill, and foundation to succeed at the highest levels.

Katie Taylor-Davidson has built a reputation as one of the West Coast’s leading hunter professionals, combining classical equitation, thoughtful horsemanship, and an exceptional eye for developing competitive show hunters. Her program focuses on producing horses and riders for the highest levels of the sport while maintaining a strong foundation in correct flatwork, style, and partnership.
A decorated competitor, Katie has earned numerous championship titles throughout her career, including multiple USHJA International Hunter Derby victories, major hunter championships, and nine equitation finals wins as a junior and amateur rider. Her standout achievements include winning the $50,000 Butet USHJA International Hunter Derby at Desert International Horse Park aboard L'Con Reyes, showcasing her ability to produce elegant, technically correct performances over some of the sport’s most challenging derby courses.
Katie also made history at the 2022 USHJA National Championships by capturing the top two positions in the $25,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby Open Section, finishing champion with In Bocca Al Lupo and reserve champion with Charismo.
Beyond the derby ring, Katie has been successful in developing and showing green and performance hunters, including earning the CPHA West Coast Green Hunter Incentive Championship aboard Princeton.

Devon Bridges serves as Assistant Trainer at Blue Ridge Farms, bringing decades of experience as a respected hunter/jumper professional, accomplished rider, and dedicated horseman. Known for his patient coaching style, exceptional eye for developing horses, and commitment to building confident partnerships, Devon works closely with riders and horses at every stage of their journey.
Having successfully trained and competed at the highest levels of the sport, including Grand Prix show jumping, Devon combines technical expertise with a thoughtful, individualized approach to instruction. He has previously worked both at top barns in Europe and the United States. His extensive background in hunters, jumpers, equitation, and pony development allows him to help riders establish strong fundamentals while progressing toward their personal and competitive goals.
At Blue Ridge Farms, Devon partners with the training team to provide comprehensive coaching both at home and in the show ring. His focus on correct flatwork, effective jumping technique, and exceptional horsemanship creates a positive learning environment where riders gain confidence, refine their skills, and develop lasting relationships with their horses.

Assistant Trainer
Malya is a young professional rider at Blue Ridge Farms, with a background as deep as it is diverse. She's spent years earning top results in the hunters and equitation medals, and more recently has been sharpening her edge in the jumper ring — highlighted by a standout Welcome Grand Prix performance last year, one of her proudest accomplishments to date. Malya turned professional in 2025, with experience competing up to 1.35m.
Malya has trained under Katie and Sean at Blue Ridge Farms for the past six years, and that foundation shows in everything she does — including how she now gives back, helping produce the barn's younger riders and ponies through the jumpers with an expert eye for equitation.
Off her horse, Malya brings a calm, steady presence to every room she walks into. Whether it's line dancing, country music, a good book, or the perfect barn playlist, she's always ready to lend a hand — and lighten the mood.
